Splendid shot of this beetle. Very neat and sharp. I like your POV. The green leaves adds colour and presents a superb BG. Excellent DOF and perfect natural lighting. Love those 'horns'. Very nicely composed. Kudos.

Hi Peter.
You are right. Insect with its antennas is always looked more attractively. You have done a very nice shot. Low POV and great composition give us full idea about this amazing insect. Insect's location is simply wonderful as well as the set of impressive leaves from crisp sharp one to absolutely blurred. As always for your macro shot I am impressed with exposure parameters and sinfulness of use of natural light. My best regards and TFS.

Excellent capture of this Longhorn which looks very much like the one Pentaxfriend recently posted? I like its position on the leaf and details are very sharp and colours beautiful. Very well composed too.

Very clear details. Interesting posture on the edge of the leaf. Excellent sharpness. Correct choice of aperture for an appropriate DOF.

Beautiful first post from the Harz-Mountains. The antennae is quite long. Roughly longer than the body length. Crisp clear and well expose image. Composition is nicely done.

Hello Peter,
Beautiful capture with great POV and compostion featuring the Longhorn A. villosoviridescens. The beetle itself is almost all sharp, including the long antennae: A fine achievement using your hand held strategy with natural light, which is what I prefer.

Hi Peter

This is another splendid macro shot fro you, my friend!
I've also seen a very similar species (if not the exact same one) about one week ago, but only managed one shot of it...and also less beautiful than this one.
The sharpness here is impeccable and the clearly visible textures on its body are really eye-catchy. The DOF you used here is also great and keeps almost evey part of the beetle in full-focus while the spot-on exporure gave you this lovely set of natural colors.
A superb shot!

Hervorragende Wahl des Blickpunktes, und eine ebenso ausgezeichnet gelöste Bildkomposition, um die Gestalt des Käfers samt seinen langen Fühlern formatfüllend zu präsentieren. Sehr gute Detailzeichnung, und angenehm weiches Licht, das die natürlichen Farben perfekt zur Geltung bringt.
Macht mir große Lust, mehr Augenmerk den Käfern zuzuwenden.
