Species information
With a wing span of about 25mm, the Small Heath is one of the smalliest Satyrinae species of Europe. Its relative Coenonympha corinna from Corse and Sardinia is still a bit smaller.
C. pamphilus occurs in Europe except for the far northern areas as well as in northern Africa (Maghreb). Eastwards, it is found through middle Asia to Mongolia.
As is the case for nearly all Satyrinae species, the caterpillars feed on several species of grass.

Bei uns habe ich ihn noch nicht gesehen, den Kleinen Heufalter. Kann mich aber sehr erfreuen an Deinem schönen Bild. Feine Darstellung, natürliche Farben, gute Bildschärfe. Ein typisches batu-Bild.
