[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It looks as if this beetle is sleeping in this beautiful green and sun-touched bed.
The story, however, is that the beetle felt disturbed when I approched with my camera and therefore 'dropped' from the leaf where it was resting just falling into the 'bed' in this position. Thereupon, it remained moveless for a long time simulating death.

Hallo Peter, nochmals,

ja ich glaube, so etwas wie "Schlafstellung" oder Starre muss es bei den Canthariden geben, jedenfalls habe ich ein ähnliches Bild während des Regens gemacht. Du hattest mit starken Kontrasten wegen des Sonnenlichts zu kämpfen. Ein seltenes und gelungenes Bild, ein richtiger Wilhelm-Busch Käfer.

Hola Peter, suerte que me hiciste un comentario... llevaba muchos días ya sin visitarte . Mirando deprisa tu galería he visto impresionantes trabajos como bridging, blow, buff-tip, etc. todos ellos de gran calidad técnica y artística.
En tu fotografía muestras ese interesante mecanismo de defensa de algunas especies; lo he visto alguna vez pero a los fotógrafos no nos engañan jajaja.
