This frontal close macro makes her really look mean!
Nice sharp capture of a female P. nymphula taken from a great frontal POV to show the head and thorax with excellent detail.

Hallo Sabine
If looks could kill, this look would have killed me instantly. A very appropriate title for your image, Sabine. This macro is super sharp, well focused and pleasantly composed. I like the almost metallic colours that come across. The fine hairs on the face are very clearly seen and I just like the huge eyes a lot. It almost looks as if they are buffed for the occasion. I like the insert on the image of the fuller picture of this insect. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Sabine,
a nice frontal picture with sharp details but
for me is the contrast, light and shadows are to hard.
In the spring who comes soon, PLS, my friend try to leave the flash at home and bring the tripod instead.
I know you have the skill to take great macros with the flash as main light.

Wow! this is an excellent macro of the damselfly. The presentation is unique and brilliant. You really have a keen eye which gives me great pleasure to look at your post. This in particular has a very nice tone, lovely vibrant and rich colors, the details are crisp and clear. Lovely composition and POV with good DOF. The focusing, lighting, sharpness are splendid. Another exemplary macro shot from you, friend!
Indeed, those eyes are amazing and quite hypnotizing! The full frontal POV, the terrific sharpness and the DOF all held increase that effect and add a lot more drama to the composition.
The inclusion of the whole damsel in the corner is a nice touch, but honestly, the big head drew so much attention the first time that i didn't even see it :))
Anyway, great work!

Very artistically arranged in-set shot of the full damselfly, Sabine. Of course, the close-up shot of its eyes is also tack sharp. I know it is not easy to get those eyes that sharp and full of details. Speaks volumes about your technical expertise.

Very nice close-up with good DOF and sharpness. I like composition in this presentation - at first view - only huge eyes + rest of the head are visible, but than... the total specimen can be observed in the corner :)

Wow, dieser sieht aber böse aus, mit diesen riesigen Augen, mah hat den Gefühl, dass er uns direkt in die Augen schaut durch den Bildschirm. Das Bild ist aber wunderbar, mit so scharfe Details, scöne metallischen Farben, und mir gefällt auch dass du ein kleines Bild von der Libelle dazu gemacht hast.

Von weitem sehen die Libellen so shön aus, aber wenn man sie von ganz nahe sieht könnte man fast angst bekommen, zum Glück sind sie so klein.
Trotzdem, ist das bild ein sehr schönes und scharfes portrait mit gutem Augenkontakt.
