Hello Sabine,
Yes a striking splash of colours, but it is this colourful Comma that is the centre of atraction, the red flower being a complementary BG. The sharpness and details are superb so that we can enjoy the beauty of this buttefly while basking in the sun with its wings open.

Interesting use of flash - well controlled to bring out the fine colours of this splendid butterfly. Although the background is busy it does not distract too much from the subject.

Hi Sabine

Even with its wings opened up one can see how well camouflaged this butterfly is and how it blends in with its surrounding environment. Although the BG seems a little busy it actually suits this particular image as it shows the insect in its natural habitat. With the butterfly sitting on this cluster of flowers it obviously would be a daunting task to try and isolate it and display it against a clean OOF BG. And why should it always be portrayed in such a manner. I like this posting just the way it is.

A wonderful macro with excellent sharp details captured. Rich colours and good exposure ensured this beautiful butterfly remains a feast for the eyes.

This is a very strong color enhancement to the macro shot of butterfly and it really seems like the flowers and butterfly are fighting for attention.

Of course the butterfly is nearest and with its full spread wings, it is able to show its full feature and cover up some of the plants below.

A desaturated look as a WS may perhaps show a different perception but it will be plenty of work.
