A very nice reminder of summer in this fine capture of a darter, the red colours of the dragon and the plant that it is on are warming on this winter day:)).
Nice sharpness, composition and lighting make this an excellent image.
BTW, I think this is S. vulgatum as S. sanguineum has black legs!

Hello Sabine!

Thanks for posting member of family of my favourite animals. Winter takes short break here in Lodz today. Temperature reached almost +10C and all snow gone. I hope it lasts till Spring. Very warm, sunny and summer picture. Darter is beautifully composed with reddish plant. I like this.

Bei mir ist seit 3 tagen schon Sommer. Meine Tochter hat einen jungen zu Welt gebracht hurra!
Deine Heidelibelle zeigt wie Du die sonnige Tage vermiest.
Sehr schöne Libelle au eine Pflanze positioniert, klare Farben, Kontrast und schärfe alles wunderbar.

Hallo Sabine,
eine tolle Farbenkomposition, die sich aus den orang-rot-Nuancen der Libelle und den Blüten ergibt.
Dazu passt der Hintergrund sehr gut, der glücklicher- oder gewählterweise keine krass gegensätzlichen
Farbtöne aufweist. So wirkt die Szenerie 'zurückhaltend vornehm'.

I must say that I'm probably one the rare extraterrestrials who enjoys winter :)! We have a lot of snow here and I like it! This is a very sharp capture with much beautiful tones of colors. I like those orange, pink and red tones with sharp details. I feel I can almost touch texture of the plant and insect. Well seen!

Simply great close-up. Bravo. I like how well flower twigs corresponds with amazing dragonfly. Colouration of both objects as well as of all picture are perfect. However, you would not be Sabine if the sharpness and details of the subject would not be extreme. Great selection of aperture value and use of fill flash. Superb job. Bravo.

That is a first class image straight out of your macro lens and quite a warming shot to look at in winter.Today as i write this critique,I am down south even farther away from Delhi where winter is already receding.

It's hot here right under the sun, but quite nice inside rooms where fans run.I still enjoyed immensely looking at this picture of yours.The details are excellent and the colours and lighting just perfect.The dominant red hue all over the composition has a vibrant effect.

Interessant wie sich diese Heidelibelle auf eine farblich ähnliche Pflanze niedergelassen hat. Schöne diagonale Bildkomposition. Mir gefällt auch das Licht, das sich in den Augen der Libelle widerspiegelt.
