[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The soldier beetle shown on the picture is very common in Germany and it is often found as couples because copulation time is rather long for this species.

Its name is
- Rhagonycha fulva
- family: Cantharidae

There are several similar species so that identification is often not clear.

Hello Peter,
A fantastic photo in great clarity. The sharpness and details are wonderful and beautifully contrasting against the green BG. Superb DOF. Very good composition and POV.

beautiful setting and definition

Hello Peter Roos,

Very sharp capture of this common beetle in a long-lasting decisive moment :). I often observed this beetle on the top of umble flowers. Here it seems to be rye grass.

Mike

Hello Peter,
Yes, this is a common activity for the Rhagonycha fulva! But not a common photo! The composition, the colours and the sharpness are really perfect. Very good job! Best regards,
Catherine

Magnífica toma Peter y de gran realismo debido al excelente enfoque y a la luz, que permite apreciar a la perfección esos bellos y naturales colores. Buen encuadre también.
Un saludo: Josep Ignasi.
