Hi Achim!
Nice capture but this is not a snake but a lizard! Its name is Anguis fragilis (Anguidae), and this is the only limbless lizard species known from Central Europe. You can read some more details about this unique creature here :)

I agree with Radomir, it is a legless lizard with a skink like head. This is a great picture that shows the limbs are not present on the reptile. TFS

Hello Achim,
It's actually a lizard. I would have guessed it's a snake. Even convinced. On the other hand the structure of the head is different compared to a snake. I wonder if it isn't a skink species as these can be lizards without feet.
I verified it through Radomir's link and wikipedia and it is mentioned it's a skink. So, I guess it is not.
It should have visible eyelids and ears and snakes don't have that.
