I finally had some time today and made it out into the nature where i was lucky to see my first dragon-/damselfly for 2007.

Unfortunately they were all sitting on a beautiful yellow Iris on the other side of a small creek which i
could not cross, so i had to bend over as far as i could without falling into the water.

Because of this i was not able to do some nice close-ups, but i was lucky that a fly sat there with the
pretty red damselfly (Large Red Damselfly
Pyrrhosoma nymphula) to make it a double.

Hm, somehow after uploading it looks a little oversharpened now - or is it just my monitor?
i will leave it - and will even upload a large version,
as i am allowed to, thanks to the tight crop.

Hi Thorsten,
This is a very artistic presentation!
I like so much the vertical framing, and the two insects catched into.
I think you solved pretty well this composition.
Well done and thanks for share it.
My best regards,
JM

Danke Dir.
LG
Heinz

Hi Thorsten,

Herzlichen Dank

Hi Thor

What a splendid and unique post!
I must admit i personally though of posting some vertical landscapes as LPs...but not such a photo...a macro (but you never know...you might have inspired me) :)
This is indeed a lovely double capture!
I am still yet to see this species of damsels but i'm glad to see some wonderful shots here on TN.
The details and colors all look amazing and the composition is superb!

Bravo and TFS
Horia

I like the compostion here Thorsten, the eye is drawn up and down the leaf. It's simple but effective. Best, Brat.

"Tooferwon" we call that eh! Aren't dragonflies predators that catch flies? I seem to recall seeing such a drama while sitting on some granite rocks close by here on Hospital Hill!

It was amazing to see the d'fly catch the fly in mid-air!

You did will to catch them seperately but together on this leaf! And of course the LP show a lot of detail! Esp. on the d'fly! Thanx! Jay

Hello Thorsten

details, Superb shot.
