What a fantastic pose, the detail is superb, the eyes looks like water droplets catching the light, the colours are lovely and look great against the white BG.

A stunning capture Thor and definitely one of those 'once in a lifetime' opportunities.
I love this and the WS image, both are superb.
Excellent pov and dof.
I think this may be a Southern Hawker (Aeshna cyanea), but you'd need to have that confirmed.

Simply AMAZING. It is SO WELL focused. Can CLEARLY see the tiny little hairs on its feet. AMAZING!!!

Whatever type of dragonfly it may be is really of no big consequence. What is IMPORTANT is that you have SHARED this beauty with the world.

Hallo Thorste,
ich glaube, daß Du mich da auf eine Idee gebracht hast. Bisher fehlen mir noch Fotos von den Großlibellen. Sie haben den großen Fehler, daß sie schwirren, schwirren und schwirren. Da habe ich keine Nerven bis zum Nimmerleinstag zu warten, daß sie sich für ein Fotoshooting mal setzen. - Als Angler habe ich aber mehrere Kescher!!! Grins - einer hat sehr viele enge Maschen und einen schönen langen Stiel. Damit hatte ich schon Maikäfer gefangen. Ich glaube, diese Hubschrauber kann ich damit auch bekommen. Also, schau´n wir mal. ggg....
Tolles Libellenportrait! Klasse Schärfe, Tiefenschärfe und eine sehr gute Bildgestaltung. Diesen Bell-Hubschrauber in Grün kenne ich nicht. Danke für das tolle Makro.
