This is a snipe fly.Nasty looking thing :)
I think i got bitten by one whilst shooting this one.
Wasn't nice.
The things we do to get a decent picture.

Hi Joe,
Both captures looking good to me although I prefer the original more,perhaps you could have cropped more green away from the topside to improve the composition (I made a ws to show what I mean),regards,
