Hi Peter. This is the standard of picture that one day i would like to achieve . You have used the light to its best which has give fine focusing and detail. Rich colours that have a shine. A nice POV/DOF. very well done TFS. Interesting notes too.

At first look, I was thinking it was the lily beetle (Lilioceris lilii) I meet yesterday (not in my garden fortunately!). But there is some differences between this two species of the same family.
Your photo is a real great macro shot, with a brillant light and amazing attitude of the beetle captured. A first class shot of this beautiful beetle. Congratulations,

It is not easy to take a good quality picture of Chrysomelidae - they are usually shiny and convex. And this one looks really great! You kept this specimen with great timing! And moreover the title (very funny! :>) adds a lot to this beautiful photo :)
