Höckerschwan - Mute swan - (Cygnus olor)
The photo was taken at the Rhine shore in Duisburg-Walsum. Near to the Rhine-Ferry (Walsum-Orsoy) lives a group of 20-30 swans, as well as ducks, Canada geese and gulls. It is fantastic to sit on the Rhine shore and observe the birds.

A very nice, sharp action shot! It couldn't get any clearer. You've done a great job on the composition as well,

Hello Marina

Welcome on TN. Nice first post of our National Bird here in Denmark. I think you did a nice job on this one. The handling of the light is good and you avoided (almost) to burn the white plumage. There are very nice details especially in the wings. I like the way the right wing looking almost transparent. Nice frozen action with lots of water splashing around. I do not know if this is the original picture or if it is a cropped version. If it is cropped you might have had a little more space in front of the bird and in my opinion you should have kept it. Apart from that it is a nice picture to look at and I like the action shots much more than the "sitting duck" style.

I am not giving points to anyone as I have turned off the point system and also cannot see any point myself.

Have fun with the future postings
Mogens
