Hello Peter,
Superb macro of this very wet-looking hoverfly and a great title too! The technical features are excellent, as is the POV and composition.
I have seen this species on the wild rose flowers in our area but so far have not succeeded in getting a good shot of it, certainly not as good as this!
Thanks for sharing this wet beauty,
Best wishes, Ivan

Hello Peter!
As for the Syrphidae fly - it is totaly strange and original. I have never seen this species before. For the first, preliminary view it looks like a bee not a fly (and not a syrphid fly!). But of course a very characteristic head clearly shows that this is not a Hymenoptera but Diptera species.
Anyway, as for me it is really something new and interesting, so many thanks for interesting lesson of entomology!
Greetings from Lodz,
Radomir

Hallo Peter
I really fancy this photo. It is colourful and bright, and the colours creates the feeling of cheerfulness and a sunny atmosphere. The flower itself is vivid and creates a feeling of spring in the air. The soft pink background highlights the details of the bee well. I just love the shine on the wings, the fine bodyhairs and the big eyes. In overall this is a warm and inviting to look at image. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards
Anna
