[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Many moths ar really colourful. But as for butterflies true green colours are not so common among them.
Here, I show an example of a nearly entirely green coloured moth
- Campaea margaritata
- family: Geometridae

Species information
The species is not rare and widely distributed from North Africa throughout the Iberian Pensinsula eastwards to Russia and extending to Fennoscandia in the north.
Foodplants of the caterpillars are: Salix, Alnus, Quercus, Fagus, Malus, Acer, Fraxinus, i.e. a wide spectrum of trees and bushes.

Locality
Forest in the northern Harz Mountains, Teufelsmauer (near Blankenburg).

Conditions
- limited light (forest)
- so that f/7.1 and ISO400 had to be used
- handheld possible due to 1/125s
- no wind

Hello Peter,

Excellent photo, you hit it appropriate exposure levels to show details of the species and ensure adequate light.

Very good attachment, with useful data on this "green moth"

Good work, greetings and thanks for sharing

Jesús

Ciao Peter, lovely moth with strange green color, I never see before, thanks, wonderful details and splendid sharpness, very well done, have a good Sunday, ciao Silvio

Hallo Peter,
sie sieht aus wie eine Fee.
So zarte silber-grüne Farben, ganz bezaubernd.

Hello Peter,
Even though this C. margaritata must have got damaged during emergence it is otherwise a fine fresh specimen that you captured with excellent sharpness and lighting, its green colour contrasting well with the dark green natural BG.
A fine macro1
Thanks and best wishes,
Ivan

Very good details and an interesting color variation one doesn't often see..
Well contrasted to BG, nicely presented.

Lieber Peter,

Dieter
