I like to observe owls. In a way these birds always show a sort of human behaviour. Especially the eyes are magnificent. I met this one in birdpark Plantaria Germany. For more info about Snowy owls I refer to previous postings.

Hi Zeno
I like this in your face tight crop of the lovely snowy owl. You are very right in observing the magnificence and beauty of their eyes. It surely are something very special.
I am not sure how much you had to crop off the original photo to achieve this composition, but maybe that cost you a little bit in detail as the overall effect is rather soft. It also exposed one or two small areas of OE, but I am sure that could have been rectified or at least addressed to a more or less satisfactory result in PP.
Please do not feel I am being over critical as it is not my intention. I really do like the photo a lot and I think you did very well with this difficult shot of overriding whites.
Just one other interesting observation. I see you listed it under 'Black & White' medium. Must have been a pretty skilful combination of monochrome colours to achieve the beautiful yellow eye (chuckle).

A nice shot of this beauty, I've rarely seen them with their eyes open :-) Good detail, good exposure on this tricky subject. Nice detail in the eye and great colour. Nice framing too, great work.
