[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
On 26th december we made a walk through this forest nearby the place we were staying on our 5-days holdiday in the area that's called the Eifel.
It was very cold that day. We didn' t have snow, but we did have a bit of a white christmas. Because of the frost a lot of trees were white. So are the small branches in this part of the forest.
And it was very nice to see that.

Here's some info about the Eifel from the internet:

The Eifel is a low mountain range in western Germany. It occupies parts of southwestern North Rhine-Westphalia and northwestern Rhineland-Palatinate.
The Eifel is bordered by the Moselle River in the south and the Rhine in the east. In the north it is continued by the hills of the High Venn (Hohes Venn), in the west by the Ardennes. (Ardennes and Eifel are actually the same geological region. They are a single volcanic field.)

Your capture of this forest scene brings to me the smell of crisp cold air and decaying leaves. I like when a photo can do that. Thanks very much for sharing.

Hello Nel,
This photo immediately jumped out at me as an excellent shot in baically B&W tones. Great contrast in the vertical trunks and the horizontal branches with the hoarfrost.

Are these beechtrees? I remember seeing such trees < with leaves > on the Veluwe... North of Arnhem, eh!

I think the photo can be improved slightly by adjusting sharpness and contrast. See WS. What do U think?

Yes, that frost is very nice indeed. I love the way it covers every little twig. The dark vertical tree trunks contrasting with the light horizontal branches is wonderful.
