Intelligent, elegant and imposing:
Chaffinch/Fringilla coelebs in Greek Spinos

His size reaches 14-16 cm,little bigger than Sparrow.
In Greece it is epidemic bird.
In Attica it mainly makes nests in the mountains Parnitha, Penteli and Hymettus.

Is mainly nourished with seeds, the summertime however and with insects, fruits and grasses.

The song of male is one from most melodic that we can hear in Greece.

His natural enemies are mainly the small predatory birds, as the falcons.

Τhe subject it was photographed in the mountain Hymettos,
in one of his forests with cypresses eucalyptuses and pines.
Hymettos is encompassed by the city Athens, but it entertains still a lot of types of wild life.

Hi Nasos.
I like this cute scene and quality of the image. Dry branch patter is sweet and bird is reproduced with excellent details. I like POV a lot. Especially I like patch of light in the bird eye. It is always very impressive. Composition of the shot and exposure are spot on too. Well done and TFS.
