In Greek mythology, Selene (Σελήνη, "moon") was an archaic lunar deity and the daughter of the titans Hyperion and Theia.
In Roman mythology the moon goddess is called Luna, Latin for "moon".

I like this simple, yet very pleasant picture very much. The almost ascetical composition adds to the value of it. Together with your notes it gets a spiritual dimension.
