[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This particular plant was growing out in the open. It stood about 1 metre high.

Species related to Orchis mascula, with east Mediterranean distribution. Its basal leaves are usually spreading in a rosette and unspotted (in contrast to Orchis ovalis), while its particularities are the pink or purple flower color, the whitish base of the labellum, marked with few purple spots or not marked at all and it's preference to shady, usually coniferous forests. It grows in small populations in northern Greek forests and flowers through March-June.
