Ophrys reinholdii
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Exciting species with deep trilobed lip. Side lobes are much smaller than the central one and completely covered with white to grey hairs. It shows remarkable variability in the shape and color of the speculum. Growing all over Greece, also in FYROM and Asia Minor, but, strangely, it is absent from Crete and Karpathos, while it is common in east Aegean island (Lesbos, Chios and Rhodes.Flowers on March-June*.
*Notes: Plants from North Greece are more slender, flower much later and have more greenish sepal and petal coloration and smaller lip lengths, about 1-1,2 cm.

Nice orchid. I found it once - near Meteora during strong rain.

Amazing Ophrys species!
I would have used a higher f number to improve the depth of field. Boosting the ISO value of your camera from 200 to 400 or even higher would have made it possible at a reasonable shutter speed..
I look forward to more treats form your collection.

Bonjour Anita et Mike,
Très belle macro finement détaillée et délicatement colorée malgré, me semble-t-il une légère surexposition.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
