[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
One of the most impressive orchids, with distinct cherry-red lip, without macula. Only the basal area has darker color and looks like the upper part of macula which is hidden under the velvety cover. Also, the lip is sometimes surrounded by a yellow edge. Abundant in Epiros, Ionian islands and in Peloponnisos only in Ilia county. The easternmost borders of its spreading in Macedonia, seems to be the county of Pieria. It flowers in April-May
