Gratulacje! To ci sie dopiero trafila gratka. Podoba mi sie na TN to, ze zawsze znajdzie sie jakis specjalista od waskiej grupy zwierzakow, pomagajacy w identyfikacji. Notka jest bardzo interesujace i dokladna. Zaba wyglada bardzo sympatycznie, ale szczerze mowiac, ma dosc glupia mine :-)

How exciting to find a new species for you!! You certainly need to be an expert to determine some species and this one looks common in it camouflage but is obviously not!
A very fine sharp capture, it mingles so nicely with the sand. Beautiful colours too and well composed.

Hi Radomir,

finally a very good picture of Rana epeirotica! Thanks for your effort. I was "hunting " for this species years ago while bicycling at Mikri Prespa and in Butrint but unable to come up with anything, as you did now. And systematics of frogs is a highly confusing subject for me and many others. So it's good to have your and Bayram's opinion on such matters. Very appropriate dedication indeed!

Very subtle picture! It doesn't appear on the thumbnail. And it is a rare and endemic species too. Amazing this very fine green colour on the head vanishing on the back. That's great art! For us also very interesting to discover a new species. Thanks so much.

In Romania, they coll "Rana complex" in which include 3 species of frogs.I don't remember wich are those species.
It is very nice that you had the opportunity to meet an endemic species from Balkan penninsula.And, it is well camouflated, but the pinkish lines revealed the frog.

I think one of the best photographes of this endemic species, not only for TN, but also for general sources. Congratulations indeed. You captured it with a great focus, POV and composition. It looks like a bit Bufo viridis, (of course it is a Rana, I mean only a bit).

I do not know a lot about frogs but I was quite sure it wasn't a common marsh frog, mainly due to its colors.
