[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Also called Ground Squirrel. This appeared in the middle of a group of walkers. Instead of disappearing again it tried to join us. t became apparent that something was trying to drag it back into the hole. It started to scream . A friend gently flicked it out with a stick and it fled. Then a weasel or stoat pushed its head out of the hole and it disappeared quickly.

Hi Phil, nice rodent you got there..interesting notes as well....

Hi Phil, quite the story, no wonder it wanted to join your group. I like the composition you have of this Souslik, and the colour is very good. I thought the focus might be a little off, almost like you caught the ground but missed the squirrel. Your depth of field covers for this partially. I thought we might also be able to enhance it a bit with software, so I've gone off to play to see if I could provide you with another option.
