[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It resembles a longer-legged and more delicate Green (T. ochropus) or Solitary Sandpiper (T. solitaria) with a short fine bill, brown back and longer yellowish legs. It differs from the first of those species in a smaller and less contrasting white rump patch, while the Solitary Sandpiper nas no white rump patch at all.

However, it is not very closely related to these two species. Rather, its closest relative is the Common Redshank (T. totanus), and these two share a sister relationship with the Marsh Sandpiper (T. stagnatilis). These three species are a group of smallish shanks with red or yellowish legs, a breeding plumage that is generally subdued light brown above with some darker mottling and with a pattern of somewhat diffuse small brownish spots on the breast and neck

Hi Zeno. This is a fine picture of the Wood Sandpiper taken in its natura suroundings . It blends in well with the grasses. You have taken this with fine feather detail with natural colours. well done TFS.

Although here I look at the nice bird because I'll not see in nature. Colour of BG is the same as the bird and very hard to perceive it.I like your photo.

Very nice shot of that sandpiper -- Tringa glareola, I think. Very good sharpness and coloring in your shot. The bird sure blends in well with its environment, doesn't it? TFS.

Weer een prachtige foto. Dit maal van een Bosruiter. De omgeving past erg mooi bij de kleuren van de vogel. Goede camouflage. Uitstekende scherpte, laag standpunt, pose, diepte in de foto en compositie. Kortom een beauty!
