Black-winged Stilt @ Saltpans, Kalloni.

I love early mornig excursions when most of the world is still asleepand you get these images, no wind, warm light, and slowly waking birds, not quite as shy as later in the day.

Slitls to me are one of the most graceful of birds, we have a few pairs here in the netherlands, but i have never seen them here.

The shot was taken from the car with a rice bag for support.

Hi Jeroen,

'n Mooi skoot (a good shot) as we South Africans would say in Afrikaans. Good detail in the blacks and whites of the bird and excellent early morning lighting. The reflection makes the picture even beter. Well done.
