An ophrys from Chios.
I guess Greece is Ophrys heaven. Before visitng this spring i ahd seen a couple of bee orchids in the Netherlands, but now i saw a multitude of different species, most of which ii wouldn't have been able to identify without help. this is one of thes. the Ophrys Masticorum, I figure it was named after all the mastic trees also found on Chios Island

Hallo Jeroen,
What een indrukwekkende orchis. Die zie je niet snel over het hoofd. Prachtige kleuren in uitstekende scherpte gefotografeerd. Goede diepte in de foto en een mooie achtergrond.

HiJeroen. This is one orchid i love. To me it looks looks like a face with its rms. Taken with good detail and bright colours. Stands out well from the plain BG. well done TFs.
