Peneos River (Greek: Πηνειός, also Pineus) is a river in Thessaly, Greece. It is named after the river god Peneus, one of the three-thousand Rivers, a child of Oceanus and Tethys.

Peneus runs 216 km among mountains and empties into the Aegean sea. Peneos has cut this beautiful gorge between the Osa mountain and the Olympus mountain...
