Elaphe quatuorlineata is a big and strong balkan snake, sometimes upgrows to 2.50m. It is non venomous and harmless. Comparing other species, E.quatuorlineata is a gentle snake and very easy to handle.

In the photo you can see its juvenile colours, as if it grows it takes a completely different form of a grey-brown colour and four dark lines-stripes running all over its length, but no spots.

I have been trying to get a rattlesnake photo for months. Good job. Outstanding POV. I do not think I will try this POV with a rattlesnake if I ever encounter one.

Great shot. In Romania this species is extremply rare, hi was recorded only in south-eastern Romanian and there only 80/100 ex (knowed herpetologists)in the last 100 years... :(( personaly I don't found this snake.
