[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Pelecanus crispus. A colonial bird. Lives in fresh brackish lakes, marshes and shallow coastal waters. Here, in lake Kerkini's western shore. The lake was formed in 1932, when a dam was built on Strymon river. It is the wildlife-richest habitat in Greece and one of the ten water-reserves protected by Ramsar Treaty.
