Hello Luciano,
A great capture of the European Green Toad, a very rare species in Sweden that i would like to photograph like this with excellent sharpness and from a great POV that shows all the features.

Hi Luciano,

I attempted a few toads this summer (no results that I would show anyone) so I know how hard it is to get a fine shot like this. I love this side view showing off the green markings, warts, beautiful eye and even the legs and toes. Excellent details - wonderful natural colors. A nice dedication to Bayram whose posts are missed by so many.

Hi Luciano,
you present an old friend of mine very well. Not that I ever met any Green toads in my country (they are only known from the southemost tip of Switzerland) but on my bicycle trip to China I heard or saw them in many countries. From the scientific literature I learned that Green toads are really subdivided into different species in their wide palaearctic range, some are triploid, some diploid. And that they can transport salt through their skin, which enables them to swim in the Baltic sea or in the salt lakes of Central Asia. (How it ever made it to Crete I don't know). An interesting toad you presented here!
