Montivipera xanthina
General Information:
Venomous. Total length up to 120cm, but usually not bigger than 100cm. Mainly diurnal but it will prefer evening and night when the temprerature is high. It occurs in varied habitats. Breeds at spring and females give birth to 2-15 offspring. Feeds mainly on small mammals and birds. Hisses loud if threatened. Its bite can be fatal to human if not treated.

Fine and detailed photo of this viper's head. Do you know the range of this specie? It is not found north of Danube, but I'm curious how far north it extends.
