In addition to the beauty of the turquoise waters of the Ionian Islands, you have also captured a most spectacular and dramatic moment of waves crashing against the rocks and rising several meters into the air. It is a superb action shot.
Moreover, the picture has lovely contrasts.

a superb capture from this stunning piece of coastline! The detail, exposure and even the placement of this spectacular plume of foam are all fantastic. Sat i a hot office, this could not look any more inviting! Very well done on a shot that has alot of drama and beautiful light.

Perfectly timed capture of the surf smashing on the rocks. I love rocky coasts... some of my favorite that I have seen are off the coast of Maine in the USA. The various blue shades of the sky and water are outstanding. Wonderful detail in shadows and highlights with great contrast. TFS Markus. :)

Lieber Markus,
grandios ins Bild komponierter Wogenbrecher, dessen wie mit dem Bühnenscheinwerfer gesetzte Beleuchtung hinter einem in tiefem Schatten ruhenden Vordergrund dramatischer nicht sein könnte. Interessant auch, dass Du mit F/13 bei 1/400 sec auf optimale Tiefenschärfe gesetzt hast, wo viele von uns angesichts der explosiven Bewegung eine erheblich kürzere Belichtungszeit gewählt hätten: Vordergrund, Woge und Horizont zugleich in guter Schärfe geben der sehr gelungenen Komposition zur Gänze die Qualität eines Gemäldes, und 1/400 sec reichten offenbar doch, um die spritzende Gischt wie eingefroren festzuhalten.
Das in der Tat "etwas andere" Urlaubsfoto aus Ionischen Gestaden. Mit Gratulation, Dank und herzlichen Grüssen,

Salut Markus,
Une performance cette photo, réalisée dans des conditions risquées (surtout pour ton appareil!) J'aime bien la composition et les couleurs, parfaitement rendues. Avec filtre polarisant? La ligne d'horizon bien nette, c'est joli. Je te conseillerais juste une correction mineure de quelques mm pour avoir cette ligne parfaitement horizontale (je sais, je suis un peu maniaque sur ce point! ;))
J'attends les autres photos avec grand intérêt (il semble que Lefkada rencontre du succès auprès de plusieurs TN!),

My time on Trek Nature is very limited, but I had to drop by and tell you that is is a super seascape. The colours of the scenery as a whole is just magic. I love the almost straight black line on the horizon, dividing the sea and the sky and the layer upon layer of different blue's of the water. The detail of the foam of the waves is very striking and really awesome to look at. I envy you for this one, and feel honoured for Nasos sake for this lovely dedication. Indeed a dreamscape. bellissimo scatto che racchiude in se tutta la Hi Markus
bellezza e l'essenza del mare di cui anche la tempesta può affascinare non solo le giornate in cui ci si rpesenta calmo in tutte le sue sfumature. Ciò che più colpisce a prima vista è la luce che sei riuscito a racchiudere nell'infrangersi dell'onda illuminata rispetto agli scogli più in ombra. Molto dettagliata e nitida con eccellenti accostamenti di tonalità azzurre.

Hi Markus,
Great to see you back again. I hope you had a good time. I like the splash and force of nature you've captured. The shaded area in the front is especially nice and draws the eyes to the white sunny spot. I am not sure if anybody else has noticed it, but the photo is tilted to the left. The horizon shows you this. With many kind of photography this isn't that obvious, but with seascapes it is probably one of the most important things to look at.

ich seh Dich grad, wie Du mit Begeisterung die Wellen und den Gist abwartest, um abzudrücken ...:-) Das Bild hat als Tüpfelchen auf dem i diese Schattenpartien, die alles noch plastisch verstärken. Unglaublich! Solche Wellen wirft die Saane nicht.

Mir kommt noch dank Deinem Bild das Schauspiel "Des Meeres und der Liebe Wellen" von Grillparzer in den Sinn, über welches mein Vater schimpfte, weil er es als Maturthema aufgebrummt bekam.
