Cyrtopodion kotschyi beutleri BARAN & GRUBER, 1981
SubFamily: Gekkonidae

Kotschy’s gecko is a small gecko widely distributed from southern Italy and continental Greece to some Aegean islands, Turkey and the Middle East. This small gecko (9–10 cm) lives in rocky places, sometimes also in buildings.
Cyrtopodion kotschyi has many subspecies, including due to the isolation of Aegean islands.
Thanks Deniz for finding the subspecies!

Prof. Bayram Gocmen has posted two beautiful specimens of others subspecies of this gecko here and here.

Photo taken on Ikaria island, in Nas, in the gorge of Chalari, Natura 2000 area, rich for its flora and fauna.

Hello Catherine,

It is easy to see how well this gecko can camourflage itself! It is perfectly matched to its b/g! I am surprised that you managed to see it. Did you notice its movement?
A sharp and interesting shot.

Kind regards,

Bonjour Catherine,

TFS!

Jesús
