Hi Laurens,
your island is full of very nice entomological goodies. This fiery Cerambycid on bramble is exellent! I see that you use the flash, a good joice indeed in my eyes. It has a tendency to produce harsh shadows (not here!) and reflexions. The main problem remains the blackness of the background and the overexposure of bright objects. In PS you could reduce the bright flower somewhat in the "Shadows/ Brightness" menu. Keep up the flow of interesting pictures from your Shangri La!

Hi Laurens,

Lovely macro capture of an adorable colorful bug with great details! The dark blurry BG works well for this capture, as it gives wonderful contrast to the red-black striped subject. The sharpness and POV are perfect. The DOF is very well maintained.
