A beautiful fungi named Pholiota squarrosa.
I found it at the mountain named Vermio at 1800m high at the base of an old oak.
Cap 3-10(15)cm across, convex becoming flatened, the margin remaining inrolled, pale straw-yellow densely covered in coarse red-brown, upturned scales, not viscid. Stem 50-120x10-15mm,smooth and pale yelow above torn mebranus ring, covered in red brown recurved scales below and darkening at the base.Taste and smell radishy.Spore print rust brown.Habitat in dense clusters at the base of deciduous trees.Season autumn. Not edible. The bitter flesh is difficult to digest. |

Beautiful shot of this interesting fungi. I wouldn't mind having a closer look at it (made a workshop to show you what i meant), but I can see why you didn't crop it too much - it's nice to see it in its natural environment. Good sharp details (you used flash, didn't you?).
Thanks for sharing.
A nice interesting fungi, I too think I would have moved in closer. Also maybe image sharpnes is not what it should be
