The Amvrakikos gulf is the largest wetland system in Greece, made up of lagoons, reed-beds, forests and salt-marshes. The Rodia wetland is situated in its North-Western part, and is the biggest single expanse of reeds in the Balkans, a place blessed by God and loved by birds, fish, and human beings.

In this landscape of rare beauty the largest population of aquatic birds in Greece (about 100,000) come to spend the winter, stop over, and reproduce (around 250 species), while it plays host to the third largest colony of wild Pelicans in Europe. The Wetland is very rich in fish and is the best place for eel-fishing in Greece.

Hi Philip,

I'm sorry, the spider is ugly :-) but technically it is a very good picture. Focus, BG composition all perfect. Very well done.

Hello Philip. Good to see you nagain. So you are back in Greece again, and not in Germany for the football. That's been very interesting to watch.
Very good macro of the spider and fly, they show up quite large. Nice and sharp too with good colours. Well done,
Janice
