Winter Rubbish

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Hi,
Today, with a great friend of mine from our Fungi Association of Miskolc, we had a small trip on the brookside of Hejő creek. Of course we were looking for fungi, if any of them are available. Fortunately we found a few: beside the specie on this pic we detected Tricholoma myomyces (= T. terreum), Flammulina velutipes, the myxomycota Lycogala epidendron, some perennial bracket fungi like Fomes fomentarius, and also one-year bracket fungi, which we still didn't identify. Not a bad capture in December, when a lot of other lands are covered with snow...
Why I entitled the pic this way? Because the specie on the pic, Tubaria hiemalis, is wearing the strange Hungarian name 'Winter Funnel Rubbish Fungus'. In English: 'Winter Twiglet'. Used to say it's rare in Hungary, but I don't fully agree, because its very closed relative, Tubaria furfuracea, which is growing from spring to autumn, is common here, and the difference between them is only microscopical. Anyway, You can see Tubaria hiemalis on TrekNature by clicking here and here.
Image: taken today - fresh from camera. Little white balance correction, noise reduction, sharpening, framing, signing, re-sizing. I hope You like it. |

You had captured well with a good angle from the sunlight which brings excellent lighting upon them with good sharpness, nice colour and details!

Hi Laszlo,
a very fine capture of the fungi. the other lichens surrounding it could also be seen. Well detailed and seen surrounding. the blurry grasses in the Bg makes this shot so exciting at the ant's view. nicely composed with great thought.
regards,
Foozi

Szia Laci!
Új nap, új nekilódulás! ((:
Marci
