Snowdrop with a bug
(Galanthus nivalis L.)

This little flower is wide spread in Hungary, but due to being popular as a gift for mothers' day, it is threatened by extinction, so it is now protected by law.

The tiny bug is just an addition, I chose this piece of flower with the bug to give some extra.

It is quite early for it to bloom, so this year I think it won't be threatened by mothers's day fever...

It was a very nice shiny Saturday today, with fine temperature and every condition fitting well to a great walk and capturing.

The shot was taken hand held, using macro bellows extended to ~10cm with my 135mm M42 lens. Applied a crop, added contrast but other things left untouched. Good lighting ignores the need of much pp :)

Hi Andor,
great picture: lovely POV, it´s something new to see the back part of a flower, it´s not an usual POV. It gives a nice DOF also. Good light and colours. Maybe a bit more focus over the white leaf would be great. The details of the bug is real good.
I like your note also: i´m sorprise to see that is in way of extintion. There is no way to cultivate it? It will be a shame to lose this beautiful flower.
