Cloud pattern

I took a bike trip yesterday up to the Misina Peak (535m high). It was quite late to start off, I had to hurry a bit to have the chance of coming down through the forest before it gets too dark to see the path full of little rocks in front of me.

So I stopped on the way up and took this single frame, and had to move on. I usually take more shots with different expos and angles to have the chance of choosing in front of the monitor. But this time I think this single one turned out just what I wanted.

Made a little underexpo, but afterwards I added a bit of contrast and brightness, and a frame. Otherwise everything is original, including wb. Applied no crop either. Only a bit of sharpening after resizing.

This was the most simple method to the point I posted. I hope you like the result too!

Best regards,
Andor

Hi Andor!

This is a very beautiful sunset picture. Beside the magnificient color tones, I like the perspective very much. The line formed by the treetops and by the clouds join as perspective lines and add to the effect of great depth. Furthermore, the patterns of the clouds are lovely and you managed the lighting very well.

Kind regards

Markus

Hi Andor,
Huge depth created by that cloud, and cleverly framed. The diagonal of the treeline matches that of the cloud and fills the lower third of the shot perfectly. A great job on the exposure too, that colours are beautiful - well done my friend!

Yes...sometimes it happens to all of us: you take you first picture and when you look at the camera's LCD, it's just what you had in mind :)
Great work here! I love the beautiful colors in the sky and great tones of the clouds and sky next to each other.
Also, the silhouettes of the trees look great and increase this composition adding just the right amount of contrast.
Very well done, indeed!

Bravo and TFS

Hello Andor,
Lovely shot, presenting the cloud trail, the composition is beutiful and well lit and nicely contrasted.
TFS & Cheers

Many times in nature photography, one has to rush in order to capture a fleeting moment. Often in the rush, the result is disappointing. From time to time, we get a nice surprise, like you did with this beautifully composed and exposed image where the obliques of the clouds are in perfect balance with the sharply focussed trees in the foreground. Well done, Andor.
