| I spent the Easter vacation in the summerhouse, and took a walk in the Almannagjá canyon one afternoon. There I saw this plumy little feller, a winter-dressed ptarmigan, and fortunately had my camera ready. If it helps you to understand the frequency of the lagopus mutus in Iceland, I can tell you it was the first time I ever saw one. |

Wow. The thumbnail of this picture doesn't do it justice. Love the contrast of the bird with it's background. Do you find you lose detail in the bird given the extreme contrast of the rocks and pants behind it? Anyways great job.
