[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
While I was at home in Ireland on vacation in the summer I watched adult swallows fly in and out of an old barn near the house. After investigation I found a nest with young inside the barn high up near the roof. I waited inside the barn and when the adult came inside the young would come to life wanting the food that the adult had brought in. Swallows catch bugs on the wing and here the adult has a bee or wasp in its mouth and all the young are keen to get it.
When I checked the nest the following morning the young had left and were practicing their flying skills around the rafters of the barn before heading out into the big wide world.

Excellent stop action shot caught with perfect timing. I love the yellows inside the chicks mouths. Very impressive photo.
