This has certainly been the Year of the Puffin on TN. The standard of shots of this delightful bird has been most excellent. I hesitate to post this one because of this high standard. Anyhow this is my effort, its the nearest I got to these fascinating little birds while I was on Tory Island.

Hi Stephen!
These birds are the best! I hope you took portraits also. Great colony, busy birds and very nice BG.

Hi Stephen

I love these guys. They have the most beautiful 'clown' eyes, sad though, and those beaks are a work of art. Lovely saturated colours and a great insight into their natural habitat. :-)

Nice shot Steve,
It's a very nice composition/view of these interesting birds in their natural habitat..
Excellent exposure, color, and nice detail :)
Very well done.

Hello Stephen, nice cristal clear and crisp, PHoto, perfect detal, excllent colors well Done TFS Kyle

Hi Stephen,

You just can't help but love these little guys. I've always wanted to see them in the wild...but no luck so far. It is such a sharp image and looks so natural that it is fun to look at. It is nice to see that they have a nice grassy area. They seem content.

Thanks for sharing

I really like this shot Stephen! It's so different from the other Puffin shots on TN. The angle is great and gives an arial view. Well done & TFS!

A truly unique angle, Steve. While I love the cose ups of these cute birds, I like this shot because I think I've learned a lot about their natural habitat. Shot at 400 at this distance it's almost an abstract composition, too.

Hello Stephen, I like your team of Puffins. This bird are so cute, I would like to see in real. Composition, colors, exposure and sharpness are very good ! Congratulations my friend and thanks for sharing.

I have finally seen some in the wild close enough to photo for my own purposes and yours is a very similar shot which reminds me of them.

Its good that there were several more of them spread across the shot, I only found 3 all sitting togther which didn't make a very interesting shot for TN. I love the colours in your pictures they are so rich. What do you do to get them that way?
