[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This one is one of the many singing males around Mona Lisa. He was a bit shy and tried to hide under the leaves.
Maybe he is the reason Mona Lisa had her make-up session...who knows??

I had to chose between several shots of this beautiful singing male and I chose this one over the ones with his beak fully open because here you can see its throat inflated while singing his beautiful song.
Is there evidence that robins replicate/imitate the calls of other birds because I distinctly hear robins (not this one, another male) imitating the alarm call of the blackbird. I am sure it was a male robin. Does anybody know about such behavior?

Hello Catalin,
Attractive shot of a singing Robin with unusual POV, fairly sharp and well composed but perhaps with a little oversaturated colour.
The Robin, like the Blackbird is a member of the Thrush family and both give similar alarm calls, the Robin's being sharper and higher pitched. Though bird of the same species in the thrush family are thought to learn their songs by listening to their parents as juveniles, inter-species mimicry is not that obvious, not like the abilty of starlings to mimic other birds.

Hi Catalin, I like this shot at lot. Your have lovely light and shadows that bring out the deep tones of red. He is a georgeous little Robin, well focused and great POV. I don't know about Robins imitating other birds, I'll see if I can find out.

I like this great light in this lovely bird's eye and this POV. For my taste, the image is a little too much contrasted and dark but those colors are really punchy :) This is a nice composition and this blue sky makes a fine BG. Thanks,
