[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I know there are at least 7 pages of Inachis Io but this is my first one with this camera and the first I have seen this year in Ireland. There are quite a few firsts and this is why it it so special.
I think there is no point in writing info on the species since it is so common on TN.

The picture is a bit cropped to improve the composition and remove unnecessary dirt. I could not decide how it looked better; like this or flipped to the other side. This is how I shot it and I went with this composition.
I have not been able to come up with a decent method of approaching butterflies. I think it relies mainly on luck since I could not replicate results with different methods of approach. However patience and slow movement is a must. I found out there are individuals which are calmer than others and will let you closer. Another factor is approaching them early in the morning while it is still cold and they cannot move so quickly and they will also have spread wings to capture the sun (this is good all around for you).
This one has given me a run for my money since it was a bright sunny day and it had lots of energy.
Thanks for stopping by and putting up with another Io ;)

Hello Catalin,
Well done, I think it is one of the first Peacocks of the year in Europe on TN! We haven't seen them here yet! Your capture is excellent, sharp and the colours are fine. You seem to know all about how to approach butterflies, only one more thing - your dress!
If you have clothes in natural (green/beige) colours you're more likely to succeed!
TFS and best of luck with your butterfly photography! Ulla

Hi Catalin,
This is a very nice and eye-catching picture of an early Peacock, strong with well-saturated and bright colours and excellent details - your description as "jewels in dirt" hits the mark very well. TFS this shot and the vivid note,
With best regards,
Goran

Hi Catalin.
Your picture of this wonderful butterfly is simply perfect. I like its great vivid colours and excellent composition. The image of butterfly is detailed very well. I like your excellent camera. With this amazing lens you have a mass of opportunities at butterfly photography and other types of wild shooting. This look is definitely better and corresponds with rules of composition. My compliments and TFS.

Hello Catalin,

Nice picture of this butterfly.. Great pov! You cropped a little bit too much because the right antenna is too near the frame IMHO. I would have zoom out a little bit in order to have the butterfly more in the left lower side of the picture...

TFS,

Michel
