| Swans are large water birds from the same family as geese and ducks. Swans are often a symbol of love or fidelity because of their long-lasting monogamous relationships, even though "divorce" does sometimes occur, particularly following nesting failure. In the ugly duckling story, a duckling was mistreated and isolated until it turned out to be a beautiful swan and is accepted into the habitat. |
