[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This picture of fern might look like taken in a forest after a rainfall, but the true is...it was taken in National Botanical Gardens in Glasnevin, Dublin.

I spent numerous days and countless hours photographing there, and especially enjoyed the greenhouses. The good thing about botanical gardens in general is, that you have access to hundreds of plant species the whole year round without having to walk huge distances...but the thing I enjoyed most is the amount of time you have to cover your subject and practice your technique over and over again...I started my macro and close up photography there, and enjoy every visit, even after three years.

This shot took about two hours to make: "the rain" was scheduled every 5 minutes, so I had to compose the image...then leave the tripod where it was (camera with me)...come back... choose the right depth of field...leave...back...choose shutter speed...leave...focus...leave and so on...and when I though i was ready..the droplet just wasn't there so I had to wait for another "rain" to make one...

I like the dual colour pattern of the image as it helps the main subject: the droplet and the shape of the fern.

First welcome to TN. This is a very nice artistic shot. Really liking the overall green hues. Good focus on the leaf and drop. Nice blurry BG. My only suggestion would be to lose the frame all together on this particular photo and go for the whole 800 pixels. I have discovered that most of time frameless or a very simple 5-10 pixel black border is best. Though I do still use frames anytime I learn how to do something new with Photo shop. Just can't help myself even though I know better. :)
