Hi Emma,
Welcome to the world where humans have left a visible footprint. I am not used to anything else and find myself challenged each time I make a photo. More and more I try to incorporate a human ellement in the photo but in such a way that it suits the entire composition and the landscape.
I don't find the electricity pilons distracting at all. They are certainly not a dominant factor in this photo and not the main subject. It is the wonderful mood caused by the setting sun, the different layers of mountains and the perfectly placed cloud.
Actually this photo reminds me a lot of the light I had in Montanna in 2006. Its the same kind of warm light that is just perfect for a moody photo. I love the sharp edge of the first mountain ridge and the softness of the other two.
TFS,
Niek
I like the use of the long focal lenght since it flattens the perspective

Well, nice exposure with such a fast speed. Like the tone too.

Hi Emma
You captured a dramatic sky and landscape, Power Poles and all. The colours really set an eerie mood typical to the changing seasons. I like the way the the colours change from dark to light. It shows a good sense of depth.

PS the canon pixma pro 9000 prints out top quality images, thanks again for your advice.

I haven't gotten yet to yesterday's post and now here is another one! I like them both. I really like this one. The layers of values are effective and the color, or lack thereof, is cool. I think the mountain ridges that might lead the eye out of the frame on the right side are nicely anchored by that dark cloud and the image feels balanced.
I'm so glad that you are back on TN and were able to take a holiday trip to Ireland.

THIS is where your great images come to live in real time...The subtle tonalities and beauty in the curves...sounds like math..but is really just nature....wonderful and so glad you are back and recovering well.

Hello Emma
A lovely layered capture with wonderful but subtle changes in light.
The darkness creates an interesting atmosphere.
Utility poles mar many a landscape shot, but they do not affect the beauty of this one in one bit.

Hi Emma.
Amazing landscape picture with wonderful colour palette. Shapes and curves of the hills, gradation of color tones, attractively covered by clouds sky create a nice esthetic impression. Thanks for so artistic shot. All the best and kind regards.
Alexei.

Hello Emma,
Great composition in sepia colours
I like the different layers and don't mind about the masts in the far background, it's someting we have to accept in most landsgapes in developed countries!

Hi Emma,
i like the fact you included the pylons here. I was thinking myself the other day that ssometimes i feel i don;t perhaps present an honest view of the coast on TN, purposely picking a POV where man made artifacts are just out of shot,
Anyway, it's a lovely shot, it really is. Strong layering elements and beautiful lighting, i like the way the cloud seems to fit the space in the sky almost exactly...well done as always!
Paul
Hi Emma
It's great to see a close-up of that part of your last post! Yes, i told you i really liked it even as a part of the bigger picture, and i sure do love it as a single element, too :)
Well composed here, with good use of the rule of thirds and sufficient importance given to all the 3 main slopes.
Don't worry about the telephone polls at all...it happens everywhere and they are not that distracting.
Just one question here really: how lucky do you have to be to have such a light behind such dark and low clouds? (at first i honestly thought it was smoke..i had to look back to your other post to realize they're not)
Cheers and TFS
Horia
