[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Ring of Kerry is part of the mystical & unspoilt region of Ireland that has attracted visitors for hundreds of years.

BTW It was down by the water that I took the POV for THIS SHOT of the Skellig Islands

The Ring of Kerry provides an amazing insight into the ancient heritage of Ireland - see the Iron Age Forts & Ogham Stones, Old Monasteries and a landscape carved out of rock by the last Ice Age 10,000 years ago.

I was a bit surprised when I first looked at this because it doesn't have the wide 10mm look that I'm used to. But I like the repeating patterns of the blue sea, the green land, and the black rock, and I think that is your point. The repetition and the saturated colors makes for a very beautiful scene.

P.S. I had a wonderful visit here back in '90, and your shot is also nice because it brings me back.

Hi Steve,
Lovely composition..You really get some wonderful vantage points from whence to shoot these things ;))
Very good detail, exposure, and..I like the way the CP has helped to make the water a deep blue grey...The seagull, bottom left corner is a nice touch too :)
Very well done.

Hi Stephen,

I love the view, beautiful scenery, excellent capture and well done on the composition.

Mike

What a point of view and great depth of focus. I like the three points of land jutting into the sea. Three is always a magic number it seems for compositions. Your images always seem to have great natural color. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Stephen,
I just visit your gallery and I must say that your pictures are terrific! Ireland seems to be a magic place filled with legends and mystery. I've been to England once and I adored but I never had the chance to visit Ireland. I wish I can someday. This landscape is wonderful. POV and composition is really well done with the bird flying and the sheeps. Great lightning and details. TFS,
Claudine

Excellent shot - so very Ireland with that twisting coast line. Love the bird in the corner.

Thanks
Emma

Good POV, DOF, and light and very good colours. A very good photo, Stephen!
best regards
JJ

Hi Stephen,
That is how I remembered Ireland, but then without the sunlight. Great composition which shows us the steepness of the cliffs. Great colors and composition. The sheep and the bird add additional focal points.

Niek
