An Irish volcano? This is Sugarloaf mountain, in county Wicklow. It is not a volcano, but does have that appearance, due to the way that the mountain top has been weathered, exposing the rock. The yellow and purple colours you see are heather, which was in full bloom.

PP: Scanned from a small 6" x 4" print, adjusted levels, increased saturation, sharpened using unsharp mask.

Hello Tim,
Beatiful and strange landscape. Saturation make a better composition. Good colors.

Hi Tim,
Great landscape with really interesting colors of the heather. I visit the Wiklow mountains as well, but not long enough to see its full beauty. Thank you for showing a part of it this way.

Niek
